FAQ

What is a product feed and why do I need one ?

A product feed contains detailed information about the products you sell, including prices and key attributes (for example, color and size options for fashion items).

They let partners easily find and promote your products without creating manual deep links for each item. They can search, filter, and share product data in various ways, helping them work more efficiently.

A product feed is essential if you want to partner with content or comparison sites, or collaborate with Google Shopping CSS partners. For these partners, having a product feed is mandatory.

Beyond expanding your program’s reach, a well-maintained and optimized product feed can increase sales by up to 15%.

Where can I upload a product feed?

You can upload and manage your product feed in the platform. Within Awin Classic, navigate to Toolbox > My Product Feeds.

You will see two sections on this page:

  • My Awin Feeds - Your standard Awin-format product feed.

  • My Google Feed - Your Google-format product feed, if one exists for your program.

Each section shows key details, including the last updated date and the number of products in the feed.

For technical guidance on how to create a product feed, visit our guide.

Why do I need to update my product feed?

Updating your product feed not only prevents its automatic deletion but also helps maintain a strong collaboration with your partners.

An outdated product feed creates issues with:

  • Partners sharing incorrect product information

  • Incorrect Google Shopping (CSS) listings

  • Breakdown of the relationships between brand and partner

  • Permanent deletion of product feed on the Awin dashboard

When will my product feed expire?

All product feeds are scheduled for automatic deletion if they haven’t been updated for three years. A 90-day prompt will be emailed to the account users as a reminder to update the product feed to avoid its permanent deletion.

What fields need to be added into a product feed?

In order to pull in a successful product feed in the Awin platform, you will need to populate at least the mandatory fields for each product you include in the feed.

The mandatory fields we require to support a successful feed are:

  • Product ID

  • Product name

  • Price

  • Image URL

  • URL

  • Merchant category

  • Description
