In this article, you will learn how to create publisher-specific commission rates, assign them to selected partners, and schedule temporary uplifts. These bespoke rates help you reward key partners, support strategic campaigns, and run promotions with confidence.
What are Publisher Commission Rates
Publisher Commission Rates let you override standard program rates for selected partners. They are helpful when you want to offer tailored rewards, improve partner engagement, or test new commission approaches.
Partners who aren’t assigned to a custom rate automatically receive your program’s standard commission rates.
Note
Publisher Commission Rates are only visible to those partners who are assigned to those rates.
When to use Publisher Commission Rates

Run promotional campaigns with selected partners.
Offer premium rates to high‑value or strategic partners.
Test new commission structures before expanding them more widely.

Select partners and schedule a rate
Click the partner selection icon for your new rate.
In the Select publishers window, search by name or ID, or filter by tags and promotional types.

In the schedule table:
Set From and To dates (or set the end date to Ongoing).
If you define an end date, choose what rate to Revert to after the promotion.
Add a Schedule description (internal only).
Click Save.
Edit or end publisher rates
You can:
Edit the commission values in an existing rate.
Add or remove partners from a rate.
Adjust or end schedules.
To adjust the schedule, click the number shown under Scheduled Publisher Changes. From there, you can:
Edit the schedule using the pencil icon.
End the schedule (either directly in the rate view or by selecting End schedule in the edit window).
When a schedule ends, partners automatically move to the rate you selected as the revert option (usually your program standard commissions rates). Always make sure partners are informed if you reduce rates.
Timeline view
You can view and compare timelines of scheduled commission rates for specific partners to:
See the current rates.
Identify upcoming rate changes.
Check the historical rates (e.g., to see when rate changes were made).
In the platform navigate to Commission > Rules > Commission Manager and select the Timeline tab.
How to use the timeline
The timeline is made up of colored bars that indicate rates that partner is/was on during the selected date range (program standard commission rates are always blue).
If you change the rates during a schedule, the schedule will split into two to show the old rates and the schedule rates.
Hover over the rates to see more details: name, start and end dates, and the range of commission.
Click on the rates to see more detailed information for each commission group rates.
Important
Partners must receive at least 7 days’ notice before any commission change. Commission reductions can be no more than 20% at a time and only once every 30 days. You can inform the partners about the changes through the Communication Center.
FAQ
Can I assign multiple custom rates to the same partner?
Yes. A partner can have multiple scheduled rates, but only one rate applies at any given time. The schedule you set determines which rate is active.
What happens when a scheduled rate ends?
When a schedule reaches its end date, the partner automatically moves to the rate you selected as the Revert to option. This is usually your standard program commission rate.
Can I edit a publisher‑specific rate when it’s live?
Yes. You can edit the commission values, add or remove partners, or adjust schedules at any time. Changes must still follow notice and reduction rules.
Can I schedule a rate without an end date?
Yes. You can leave the To date as Ongoing. The rate applies until you manually end or update the schedule.
Do partners receive notifications when rates change?
No, you’re responsible for communicating rate changes to partners. If you reduce rates, make sure the partner receives at least 7 days’ notice and that changes follow the 20% reduction rule.
Where can I see all upcoming and active publisher rate changes?
Use the Timeline view in Commission > Rules > Commission Manager to see a visual overview of all scheduled publisher commission rates.
Why can’t I reduce a partner’s commission by more than 20%?
Commission reductions are capped at 20% and can only occur once every 30 days to ensure fairness and maintain positive partner relationships. This supports transparency and protects partners from unexpected fluctuations.
