# Create a tracking link for partners

Affiliate tracking links are crucial for measuring performance, ensuring partners receive their commissions, and increasing sales. By using trackable links, you ensure that the partner is promoting a specific product or offer effectively while ensuring accurate reporting for your affiliate program.

Our **Link Builder** tool allows you to create two types of tracking links:

- Individual links to be used only by a specific partner, or
- General links that can be shared with and used by any partner.

## How to create a trackable link

Follow the steps below to create a unique deeplink for any product or category page on your site:

1. In the platform navigate to **Toolbox > Links & Tools > Link Builder**.
2. Enter the **Destination URL:** Copy and paste the product or category page URL you want to make trackable.
3. **Campaign parameter:** Select an option from the list of your active campaigns or create a new parameter.
4. Leave the **Click references** box blank: Partners usually add these on their end.
5. For the **Add specific publisher** box:
  - If you’re creating a link for a specific partner, tick the box and enter their name or ID. Their ID will be displayed at the end of the link.
  - Leave the box blank to generate a general tracking link that any partner can use. You’ll notice that `!!!id!!!` variable will be displayed at the end of the link.
6. Click **Generate link**.

> It’s best to send the general tracking links through the Communication Centre, as the system will automatically populate the Publisher ID for each partner. If you send the deeplink through other methods, like email, partners will have to manually replace the `!!!id!!!` variable with their own unique Publisher ID.
