Account restrictions help protect Awin and partners on our network when invoices become overdue. This article explains why restrictions are applied, what they mean for your program, and how to remove them quickly.
These measures help limit financial risk while ensuring the network remains secure and reliable.
Important
As soon as restrictions are lifted, please validate all pending transactions promptly. This prevents the auto‑validation feature from approving transactions that should be declined.
What account restrictions mean
When your account is restricted, you won’t be able to complete certain actions within the platform.
You won’t be able to:
Validate (approve or decline) pending transactions.
Batch‑process commissions.
Accept new partners into your program.
Note
When attempting to validate transactions, you’ll see the following message: Due to payment issues you will be unable to validate further transactions…
When restrictions are applied
Restrictions are implemented when there are outstanding invoices that have passed the contractual payment period, as defined in your Advertiser Contract and Terms.
Before restrictions are applied:
Invoice reminders are sent to the finance contact we have on file.
These notifications explain which invoices are overdue and what action is needed to avoid restrictions.
If no payment is made, your program will automatically be placed under restriction.
When restrictions are applied:
The Account Owner will receive a notification via email.
How to lift restrictions
Restrictions are removed once the full outstanding balance has been paid.
You can check any unpaid invoices at any time by going to: Account > Billing > Invoice History.
For urgent cases, please share proof of payment with us once all invoices have been settled. This helps us lift restrictions as quickly as possible. If you have a dedicated Awin contact, please reach out to them. If not, you can get in touch with our support team by filling out the contact form.
After restrictions are lifted
Once your account is reinstated, regain control of your program by validating any pending transactions immediately that have passed your program’s auto-validation period. This step is crucial, as the auto‑validation feature may approve transactions that should instead be declined.
FAQ
Why has my account been restricted?
Your program is restricted when there are unpaid invoices that have passed the contractual payment period. Before restrictions are applied, invoice reminders are sent to the finance contact listed on your account.
How can I check/update my program finance contact details?
If you have a dedicated Awin contact, please reach out to them. If not, you can get in touch with our support team by filling out the contact form.
Can I still validate transactions while my account is restricted?
No. You won’t be able to approve or decline pending transactions until restrictions are removed. This includes batch‑processing commission actions.
Will auto-validation still apply while my account is restricted?
No. Pending transactions will remain as they are while restrictions are enabled. Once they are lifted, it’s important to immediately validate any pending transactions that have passed the auto-validation period.
How do I remove account restrictions?
Restrictions are lifted when all outstanding invoices have been fully paid. You can review your unpaid invoices by going to Account > Billing > Invoice history.
Do I need to notify Awin after making payment?
For urgent cases, we recommend sending proof of payment to help speed up the removal of restrictions.
What happens to pending transactions once restrictions are lifted?
As soon as restrictions are removed, please validate all pending transactions promptly. This prevents the auto‑validation feature from automatically approving transactions that should be declined.
Will restrictions affect my partners?
Yes. While your account is restricted, you won’t be able to accept new partners into your program. Existing partners may also experience delays in having their commissions validated.
Can restrictions be avoided in future?
Keeping billing details up to date and ensuring timely invoice payments will prevent restrictions. Review your finance contact details regularly to make sure reminders reach the right person.
