The most efficient way to integrate Awin’s tracking with your site is to use our Shopware extension, which you can find in the [Shopware store](https://store.shopware.com/en/awinx39041739305f/awin-advertiser-tracking.html). The Awin extension includes our [hybrid tracking](https://resources.awin.com/product/en-gb-hybrid-tracking/) solution and its associated benefits. The extension will trigger the tracking tags on order confirmation pages and the tracking tags will include all aspects of tracking. This includes client-side conversion tags, fallback image pixel, server-to-server tracking, and the Awin MasterTag on all pages. Please follow all steps below to ensure a successful tracking installation on your store: ### Installation Please download the extension file from the [Shopware store](https://store.shopware.com/en/awinx39041739305f/awin-advertiser-tracking.html), and continue with the steps below. **Step one**: Log in to your Shopware admin panel and navigate to **Settings > System > Plugins > My Extensions**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ec9ead62-8ecc-46ef-aac7-9b0a9081b40b/Images/Documentation/image(28).png) **Step two**: Click on the **Upload extension** button in the top right corner and select the Awin plugin file from your device. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ec9ead62-8ecc-46ef-aac7-9b0a9081b40b/Images/Documentation/image(29).png) **Step three**: After the plugin is uploaded, you’ll see it in the list of available extensions. Click on the **Install** button in the lower pane of the plugin card. **Step four**: Once the plugin is installed, you’ll see a green check mark and an **Activate** button. Click on it to enable the plugin. **Step five**: After the plugin is activated, you’ll see a **Configure** button in the lower pane of the plugin card. Click on it to open the plugin settings. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ec9ead62-8ecc-46ef-aac7-9b0a9081b40b/Images/Documentation/image(30).png) **Step six**: In the plugin settings, you need to enter your Awin Advertiser/Merchant ID in the Awin ID field. You can find this in the platform under **Program profile**. Click on the **Save** button to apply the changes. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ec9ead62-8ecc-46ef-aac7-9b0a9081b40b/Images/Documentation/image(31).png) After installing the plugin, please provide your Awin Advertiser ID in the configuration section. The Awin tracking extension should now be fully configured and you can move on to testing the tracking. ### Deduplication The extension utilizes the `source` query parameter from the landing page URL and passes this value along to the channel parameter of our tracking request for deduplication purposes. It’s important to note that only the `source` query parameter will be used for deduplication, not the more commonly used `utm_source` parameter. You should ensure that the source parameter is correctly configured for your program. Your Awin point of contact can assist you with changes to this configuration. To implement this on Awin’s side, a `source=aw` query parameter will be appended as standard with Shopware extension setups under Default Query String Append in the Tracking Settings. Additionally, the module creates a cookie named `source` to store the value of the `source` parameter. This value will update accordingly each time the value of this parameter changes in the URL. > [!WARNING] > **Important** > > If you are configuring other channels, please ensure that they’re reporting to the `source` parameter with the proper value (e.g., *source=email*, *source=fb*, *source=na*, etc.). **Example** > > www.yourdomain.com?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&**source=na** > > > > The Awin module reads the **source** query parameter from the landing page URL and uses its value for last-click attribution. In this example, the value **na** indicates that the last click originated from a non-Awin channel. Where a transaction is attributed to a non-Awin channel, no Awin commission is awarded, regardless of whether an Awin affiliate click was previously recorded. The presence of the source query parameter typically doesn’t impact reporting in analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or other reporting tools. In most cases, traffic source reporting is based on standard UTM parameters (for example, `utm_source`, `utm_medium`, and `utm_campaign`), whereas the source parameter is used specifically for attribution purposes within the Awin deduplication process. ### Product-level tracking Product-level tracking (PLT) information is sent via the extension’s tracking tags and follows the default format of an Awin PLT dataset: ```plaintext AW:P|{{advertiserId}}|{{orderReference}}|{{productId}}|{{productName}}|{{productItemPrice}}|{{productQuantity}}|{{productSku}}|{{commissionGroupCode}}|{{productCategory}} ``` ### Consent The Shopware extension for versions 6.5.0.0 - 6.6.10.2 supports Awin consent signals to use third party consent tools. Built-in [Shopware consent management](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/tutorials-und-faq/howto/cookie-consent-manager-faq) works with the Shopware extension out-of-the-box. For this functionality, Awin cookies need to be categorized as *Marketing*. In addition, the Shopware extension natively supports Usercentrics CMP. When using Usercentrics instead of Shopware’s built-in CMP, you can now run Awin tracking in a GDPR-compliant way, as the Awin consent signals are set on base of the Usercentrics consent status. The CMP can be selected in the extension settings, and the Usercentrics Settings ID will need to be added to make use of the feature. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ec9ead62-8ecc-46ef-aac7-9b0a9081b40b/Images/Documentation/image(140).png) Whenever a custom consent management solution is used, please read our guide on [consent framework](/developers/docs/consent-framework). ## Testing your tracking Please see our article on [testing your integration](/developers/docs/testing-your-integration) for further instruction. --- ### FAQ #### Are the tracking amounts including or excluding tax and delivery costs? By default, the Shopware extension excludes both taxes and delivery costs in the tracked transactions amounts. Commissions will therefore be applied on base of the amounts excluding taxes and delivery costs. For further information or guidance, please reach out to your Awin technical point of contact.
