This report is available only for Awin Advanced customers.

The purpose of the Competitor Benchmarking report is to help you gain clear insights into competitor performance and identify growth opportunities.

How to access the report

  1. Sign in to the Awin platform.

  2. Go to Reports > Insights > Competitor Benchmarking.

Filtering the report

Select the three black lines at the top left side of the report to open the filters menu.

Filter by date

You can check your program’s performance over different time periods. Click Date > Set Period dropdown menu and select one of the following options:

  • Specific Dates

  • This Week

  • Last Week

  • This Month

  • Last Month (by default)

  • This Quarter

  • Last Quarter

  • This Year 

  • Last Year 

Filter by partners

You can also compare the market performance of specific partner types or specific partners. To do that select the Publisher Type and Publisher filters in the Publishers section. You can filter the report further, to see new partners you currently don’t work with or existing opportunities, by using the Membership Status filter.

Other filters

In the Others section the following filters are available:

  • Device Type - Allows you to compare the market performance of specific device types.

  • Metric - Allows you to see your program’s performance for the below metrics:

    • Clicks

    • Sales

    • Revenue

    • Commission

  • Date Format - Allows you to fine tune how the dates are displayed.

Competitor benchmarking KPI performance

To see your program’s performance for different key performance indicators (KPIs) view the KPI Comparison cards. The KPI section has the following terms displayed by default (further KPIs can be shown with the + button):

  • Clicks - Sum of click traffic

  • Sales - Sum of transactions

  • Revenue - Sum of sales amount

  • Commission - Sum of partner commission

  • AOV - Average order value, calculated as revenue divided by sales

  • CR - Conversion rate, calculated as number of sales divided by clicks

  • ROI - Return on investment, calculated as revenue divided by commission

  • CPA - Cost per sale/acquisition, shown as a percentage calculated as commission divided by revenue

  • EPC - Earnings per click, calculated as number of clicks divided by commissions

  • Click Active - Number of click active partnerships

  • Sales Active - Number of sale active partnerships

Middle upper section of charts

Each of these charts can be expanded or hidden using the + and x buttons:

  • Market Share - Total proportion that your program contributes to the total number of the selected metric (clicks/sales/revenue/commission) vs. the total for your competitors.

  • Total Volume - Total of your program’s selected metric (clicks/sales/revenue/commissions) vs. the average for your competitors.

  • Reliance on Top 20 Publishers - The percentage of your program’s selected metric (clicks/sales/revenue/commission) is generated by the top 20 partners vs. the average percentage for the competitors. This view can also be filtered via the menu to show the reliance on a specific partner.

Middle lower section of charts

  • The Publisher Type Group Performance - Lets you run data on the performance of your partner groups.

  • Program Device Type - The total amount and percentage share of the selected metric for the program.

  • Competitors Device Type - The average of the selected metric for the competitors for the current date range vs. the previous period.

  • Publisher Opportunities Gap Analysis - Shows potential partner opportunities for the program by examining the difference between the program and competitor average, shown as the Gap. Also shows the difference between the program current period for the selected metric and the previous period.
