Plan availability
Commission by Assist tool is available only for Awin Accelerate and Advanced customers.
What Commission by Assist does
Commission by Assist allows you to pay additional commission to partners who contribute to a sale but don’t receive the last‑click conversion.
An assist occurs when:
A customer clicks a partner link.
They don’t purchase immediately.
They later complete their purchase after clicking another partner’s link.
In these cases, the first partner doesn’t receive the default commission but still influences the customer’s decision. Commission by Assist helps you reward these partners fairly.
We recommend letting partners know in advance if you plan to award assist‑based commission.
Creating a Commission by Assist rule
Follow the steps below to set up assist‑based payments.
In the platform go to Commission > Rules > Commission by Assist.
Click Add new rule.
Select the partners you want to reward.
You can choose specific partners who appear early in the Journey Path report, or select All publishers.
Enter the reward amounts you want to pay for assists.
Choose different values depending on the type of assist:
Assisted Awin: Partner drove a click at any stage of the journey.
Assisted Awin (1st): Partner generated the first click in the journey.
Assisted other channels: Partner assisted in a journey that also included other marketing channels. This option requires Awin Channel parameters in your tracking setup.
Add a daily cap if you want to control your budget.
Use the Status slider to turn the rule on or off.
The assist reward should always be lower than your standard commission amount.
How assist payments appear
When an assist occurs, the platform creates one transaction per partner, which appears in the Transactions report.
You can amend assist rules at any time in the same Commission by Assist area.
